Dr. Parmeter’s passion for caring began when she decided to become an educator. She was drawn to Kindergarten age students, and retired after 30 years of service in the public school system. She decided to pursue a Ph.D. in education, to share her passion for education and caring with future teachers. She holds degrees from Texas A&M and Texas State University.
Jill has taken her passion for helping others to Africa. She worked with teachers in South Africa, and provided a water well for a community in Rwanda. She returns to Kenya often to serve at Happy Life Children's Home. In addition, she volunteers locally at her church and Bridging for Tomorrow. Recently, she became involved as a surrogate foster parent in Klein ISD. Her drive to serve and provide quality of life for others is what drew her to the Happier at Home family.
